1. Who may use Scribebot

Scribebot is for teachers and school staff, and you must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. It is not for students, and there are no student accounts.

Your account is yours alone. Do not share your password or let anyone else use your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.

If you are using Scribebot in connection with your employment at a school, it is your responsibility to make sure that doing so is consistent with your employer's policies. Nothing here creates any agreement between us and your school or employer.

2. What Scribebot does, and what it does not do

Scribebot is a drafting tool. It produces draft assessment tasks and exam papers for a teacher to read, correct and decide upon.

Drafts are generated by an AI language model. That means they can contain mistakes: a wrong answer in a marking guideline, a question that does not assess what it appears to, a misattributed source, a miscalculation, or content pitched at the wrong stage. Every draft must be reviewed by the teacher who will use it. You are responsible for what you put in front of a class.

Where Scribebot describes a draft as relating to a syllabus outcome or a course, it is describing what the draft was drafted towards. It is not a certification, endorsement or guarantee of compliance with any syllabus, assessment requirement or regulatory standard, and it is not endorsed by or affiliated with the NSW Education Standards Authority, the NSW Department of Education, or any school or system authority.

3. Who owns what

Your content

You keep everything you bring: your prompts, your conversations, and the documents you upload. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you — to store your content, and to send it for processing so that a draft can be produced (see the privacy policy).

You must have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload material you are not permitted to copy, and do not upload student personal information.

The drafts Scribebot produces for you

The papers and tasks Scribebot drafts for you are yours to use, edit, print, distribute to your classes and keep. We claim no ownership of them and no licence over them. Use them after you stop using Scribebot if you like.

Two honest caveats. Similar requests may produce similar drafts for other teachers, so we cannot promise a draft is unique to you. And the legal position on copyright in AI-generated material is unsettled in Australia; we are not promising that a draft attracts copyright protection, only that we assert no rights in it against you.

The software, the site and the Scribebot name remain ours.

Your content is not training data

We do not use your conversations, drafts or uploads to train or fine-tune any model, and we do not permit our providers to use them for that purpose.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Scribebot to:

• break the law, or infringe anyone's rights;
• upload student personal information, or anyone's sensitive information;
• produce material that is harmful, harassing, discriminatory or otherwise unsuitable for a school;
• attempt to breach, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or work around a school's network controls;
• resell the service, or share your account with others.

5. Availability

Scribebot is an early product run by a small team. We do not offer a service level guarantee: there will be outages, and features will change. We will not delete your documents without telling you — the one case where we delete anything on our own initiative is an account left unused for two years, and that is covered in section 7. If we ever discontinue the service we will give you notice and a way to take your work with you.

Keep your own copies of anything you rely on. Every draft is downloadable as a Word document for exactly that reason.

6. Fees

Scribebot is currently free to use, with fair-use limits on how much can be generated. We will not begin charging an existing account without notice, a clear price, and an unambiguous chance to decline.

7. Ending your account

You may stop using Scribebot at any time. You can delete your account yourself from Settings, under "Delete my account" — it removes your papers, conversations, uploads and personal details immediately and permanently. Download anything you want to keep first, because nothing is archived and we cannot recover it for you. You are welcome to write to [email protected] instead if you would rather we did it.

Inactive accounts. If nobody signs in to your account for two years we will delete it and its contents. We will email you 30 days beforehand, and simply signing in cancels it. The privacy policy sets this out in full.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to. Except in serious cases we will tell you first and give you a chance to retrieve your work.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where those guarantees apply, they apply regardless of what this page says.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law permits: Scribebot is provided as it is, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and we are not liable for a decision made or a document used without the review that section 2 requires.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction.

10. Changes

When the reviewed agreement replaces this page, and for any later material change, we will update the date at the top and email account holders. Continuing to use Scribebot after a change means you accept it; if you do not, stop using it and ask us to close your account.
